My wife and I took in a stray kitten that was found in the road. We quickly fell in love with it and it was eating and gaining weight and very playfull, after about 3 days of having it I noticed swelling under its chin, we took it to the vet and it turned out it have a fly larva in it. So the vet cut it out and gave us amoxacillan for a upper respitory. That night the cat was very tired and disorented, we figured because of the gas (from the operation), however the next morning the cat was very lethargic, its eyes were swollen and shut, it also had a fever of 103.4. so we wrapped it in a cool towel and succeded in getting its temp down. If the cat wasnt sleeping it was sitting barely able to hold its head up. we brought her back to the vet and they put her on an IV they also didnt say whether it was or wasnt FIP. so we brought her home and we have been giving her pedialite through a syringe to keep her hydrated and also cat milk to feed her. its been 2 days and she doesnt seem to be improving, she has been going to the bathroom where she lays so we are doing our best to clean her without getting her to wet. she will occationaly open her eyes and walk around in circles but she doesnt respond to us. does any body have any imput at all? does this sound like FIP? why would she only act like this after comming back from the vet for getting the fly larva out??? please and help would be much appreciated.
