4 year old female with FIP (diagnosed yesterday)

Post a new topicby JennyWDublin on Fri Feb 20, 2009 6:57 am

Hi everyone, I'm in Dublin (Ireland) and after investigative surgery on Friday 13th Feb my cat Twinkle was diagnosed with dry form FIP. PLEASE can ANYONE recommend SOMETHING that will slow or stop the progression of this disease? She's our only cat, at home most of the time, pops into the garden to go to the loo, loves us and is ADORED by us. We are devastated. Don't want to say goodbye but don't want her to be miserable. Has anything worked? Thanks in advance, Jenny

Dear Jenny,
I just lost my kitten to the wet form of FIP a week after diagnosis. From my readings, it seems the dry type is much slower and you should have many more months with your cat. Someone recommended a homeopathy course of treatment to me but it was too late. I don't know if you have any homeopathic vets in Dublin, but you might want to consult wth one. Good luck.

Hello Jenny

My gorgeous cat Percy was diagnosed with the dry FIP yesterday. Please can you give me any tips you have/ what you have learnt - to help me help Percy.

Percy started on Interferon yesterday along with prednisone.

Please let me know Jenny.

Thank you
